Custom Kitting Trays
Ideal for Lean Manufacturing Applications
(Kaizen trays, TQM, Total Quality Management, Six Sigma, Kan Ban applications).
EXAMPLE 1) Contrasting Tray for staging of parts for assembly.
The above tray is just one example for a lean manufacturing application. This tray was used to insure parts were not missed in assembly operation. The tray was also used to store parts prior to assembly and to inventory kitted parts.
Tray requirements for above tray:
- CUSTOM POCKETS: Tight part fit where parts could not be interchangeable. Designed from part samples of part files.
- Parts needed to sharply contrast with tray. Multiple material options available. This tray is Natural HDPE.
- Reusable tray. The tray above is about 24" but trays can be built to 120".
- Lettering with part description molded into tray.
- Low volume application. Every effort was made to keep tooling cost to minimum. Thermoform tooling cost is typically at 1/10th to 1/5 of injection mold tooling.
Custom Die Cut Trays
Special rotary and standard die cutting of plastic, plastic corrugated and foam. This process can be used to create liners, covers, and trays. Custom pockets can be made with a minimal investment in tooling. Plastic corrugated is used to minimize friction with parts. This is a good candidate for lower volumes due to low tooling and set up costs. Call for a quote.

Example of a 21 pocket tray. Tray size and pocket size can be custom. No corrugated to minimize dust.
